Classic Cars - They Don't Make Them Like They Used To

Throughout American history numerous technologies and industrial advances have soured. Nothing today is what it was years ago and in most cases this is a good thing. However, you still hear your father, grand father, or older friends say something along the lines of "They don't build them like they used to." They're probably not referring to a telephone, a TV set, or a computer. They're most likely referring to an automobile. That's because in the case of cars and trucks they really don't build them like they used to. In the early 1900s up to the 60s and 70s automobiles were made of solid steel structures and not an ounce of metal was spared in the design. Everything from the engine block to the rear fender was solid and strong. Today you can take the newest Chevrolet and at sixty miles per hour wrap it around a tree and surely kill the driver where as a classic cars model… well… That tree better watch out!
