It's been well over half a century since that 1944 Lincoln or that 1957 BMW were released and time's likely taken quite a toll on them. Unfortunately, just like that original factory paint job, availability of replacement parts tends to completely disappear. If you've got your hands on a rare beauty from way-back-when and find yourself needing a stock steering wheel or tail light cover you may be in for a grueling goose chase or out of luck all together. This is why when setting out to restore a classic its important to really consider what model you'll have the time or money to bring back to life since the resources will be scarce.
For that very reason most classic car enthusiasts stick to some popular models that even today have parts readily manufactured for their restoration and every day maintenance. Classic cars such as the Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang, or Dodge Charger take very little effort to find needed parts. These are actually considered to be the best restorable classic cars and are highly recommended to anyone who is restoring for the first time. To more hardcore enthusiasts, however, these may seem like child's play.
